Strait Sound

Fri 16th October 2015

There are lots of coastal birds on the Strait at this time of year. During the October half term and the Autumn months it is a great time to take a RIB ride.

Here is a short film of ‘Ynys y Bîg’…

We have a resident population of Oyster catchers here on the Strait. In winter more birds joins us, flying in from Norway, to spend Autumn and Winter here where it is a little warmer.
‘Ynys y Bîg’ is the fourth island up from St George’s Pier in Menai Bridge and sits alongside her sisters ‘Ynys Faelog’, ‘Ynys Gaint’ and ‘Ynys Castell’.

Come for a RibRide this October half term and enjoy the sights and the sounds of the Strait.
During the school holidays we suggest you pre-book your RibRide online (available 24 hours) at
Or talk to us by calling 0333 1234 303 (a local rate number), please leave a message if we are out on the yard or on a RIB ride.
