Skipper jobs 2018 – A Search for Skippers

RibRide, the adventure boat tour company based in Menai Bridge, are looking to recruit more skippers to help run their summer operations.

“Our success is built on working with friendly, engaging and highly competent Skippers. In recent years we have relied on ‘word of mouth’ and our contacts to build the team. This year, due to a busy summer schedule, we are looking to recruit from the North Wales region and further afield,” says Matt Middlehurst, Skipper and Operations Manager at RibRide Adventure Boat Tours.

RibRide are looking for experienced powerboat drivers to become RIB Skippers on their popular adventure boat tours. It is a very varied, enjoyable and rewarding role in one of the most attractive parts of Wales, the Isle of Anglesey. The role is predominantly based on the Menai Strait from the RibRide base in Menai Bridge.

“Ideally we are looking for skippers with the RYA Advanced Powerboat ticket (or equivalent) commercially endorsed for passenger work. If you do not have these qualifications we will consider supporting you to move towards the RYA Advanced Powerboat commercially endorsed ticket through our training programme,” says Skipper Matt.

RibRide are looking to employ seasonal Skippers and also welcome applications from freelance Skippers.

“The marine environment is an amazing place to work. We are looking for applicants with a good knowledge of Anglesey and the local area, ideally with the ability to communicate well through the medium of Welsh and English, Says Skipper Matt.
