"Why don't you sell on Groupon?"
Fri, 04 Nov 2011
Daily deal sites might have had their day, says this morning's press. At the same time we're being asked to feature on Groupon however our trips are such good value, any reduction in our income surely has to be reflected in a reduction in quality?
We have watched a competitor, faced with poor bookings on a old worn boat, sell places on Groupon for a very low price. This trips that his customers now receive are slow, taken straight down the middle of the water, turn around and come back. Nothing that changes the mediocre throttle position is allowed as it all costs money in a profit-less situation.
By comparison, our trips are bespoke. Our experienced captains tailor the trip to those on board, offering lots of stops and chats, getting in close to really see the detail of the area. Our trips change with the seasons and weather making sure we give the best we can. As for the throttle? We use it! (where appropriate and safe to do so!). Our £65,000 boats are new and equipped with the latest, most environmentally friendly engines; at idle they are almost silent so as not to disturb what we are looking at but also able to unleash a fury of torque and horsepower for a bit of fun.
As the old adage says, you get what you pay for.
But don't take our word for it, look us up on Trip Advisor!
